Day 26- Solomons, MD to Deale, MD

We liked the sky in the far distance. Pretty day.
But, in front of us as we have to turn left, maybe not so much.

Some rain, some sun as we moved north.

We would get part way in front of the clouds, but never for long.

I spotted this little lighthouse in the distance. Zoomed in using the maximum setting on my phone and managed to get a photo of it Sort of. I didn't realize until I looked at it on my computer that a tug was setting right in front of it. Built in 1828 by John Donohoo, the Cove Point lighthouse is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse in Maryland. Again, click on the blue title for more information.

This is Liquified Natural Gas tanker moored to a facility located several hundred yards off the shore.  There is a security zone around it and they keep several tugs near at hand should a hasty departure be dictated.

Loved the cloud with the hole in it.

Such a different shoreline to see after the swamps.

Where does that liquified natural gas go?  To this power plant, of course!

I know what happens here, but if I told you, I'd have to kill you.

The town of North Beach, MD. North because its the northern end of Calvert County.  Clever, huh?

Didn't see hardly any boat traffic today. This was as we were approaching Harrington Harbour Marina.

Very large marina with beautifully manicured grounds.

Getting ready to dock with our "marriage saver" headsets. No yelling required.

Saw these pansies on the walk to the restaurant for dinner.

The irises were begging to have their picture taken.

The wind and weather finally settled.

Red sky at night, sailor's delight.
