Day 20-23 Norfolk VA- AGLCA Rendezvous
Day 20-23 May 6-9
This is an explanation of what the America's Great Loop Cruiser's Association Rendezvous (AGLCA) is all about, taken from their website-
"The Spring Rendezvous includes more than 20 seminars split into two tracks. The Route Briefing track includes more than 10 hours of seminars covering the portion of the Great Loop Route from the Chesapeake to the Tennessee River, including Canada. Speakers will lead you through these waterways, pointing out favorite marinas, anchorages, things to see and do, and navigational information along the way.
The second track is our Looping 101 track. This encompasses more general Looping information, such as finding the perfect Great Loop boat, weather, marine electronics, and more. Registered attendees were polled about topics of interest to them after registration was open for about a week. The Looping 101 track agenda was then created based on the top topics from the poll."
We have been attending sessions, meeting interesting people, learning new skills and eating good food. We will be moving on the water again on Friday, May 10. Check back after that for more.
This is a photo of part of the back of a t-shirt that shows all the boats intending to do the Loop in 2024. You will see Snow Goose in the middle. There were about 450 boats on the list. Only about a quarter to a third of them will finish the loop this year.
The final sunset, looking past our marina neighbor's boats.
Thanks Cheryl!
