Day 47- Ess-Kay Yards, Brewerton, NY

 DAY 47  June 2

Today was a rest day with no where we had to go and nothing we had to do.

Lots of pontoons on this lake.


Decided to get a few more groceries since they had a curtesy car.

Saw one tug go by pushing a big old tank.

I found the hammock and read my book while Paul took nap.
Perfect, lazy Sunday.

  Wow! Amazing! Incredible! Life changing, maybe not. Life changing is a comment that several people have made about this trip. But, we have learned that they had never lived on a boat before. They had hardly ever planned a route, anchored, docked, slept at anchor, handled lines, encountered weather and done all the things that Paul and I took for granted because we had both done many times in the past.  For this we are both thankful for the history we brought into this trip.  Paul's knowledge and past experience and research made the trip safe, fun and easy. Day 230- December 3 FINAL DAY Saint Augustine, FL to Jacksonville, FL

No, it is NOT an early departure, the sun is just coming up later! See, there it is. Still an early departure on my time schedule. We saw this anchored just North of St Augustine.  I had seen it on YouTube.  This fellow made this in his back yard in Oklahoma and documented the whole thing.  It took years.  Check out SV Seeker on YouTube. We started the day with several sightings of white pelicans and numerous dolphins. Of course, they were camera shy. Those Floridians use a lot of power. So a story goes with this.  The guy in the red boat is named Wally Moran.  A Canadian with a somewhat checkered past (would that be 'chequered?') is a self-proclaimed ICW guru.  He's done the waterway for 20 years.  Probably because he can't go back to Canada.  In addition to pontificating on various fora and sailing publications, he runs an annual "Sail to the Sun Rally".  For the low, low price of $995 you can follow him down the ditch and he will show...

Day 228-229- December 1 & 2 Titusville, FL to Halifax Marina, Daytona, FL to Saint Augustine, FL

What's this?  The sun was already up BEFORE we leave?? Yes, and there is a "sundog" to the left of the sun. See the vertical rainbow? In South Dakota these always meant COLD weather was coming. Cold is exactly what is forecast for the next few days. There is even a frost warning for Jacksonville, FL, where we are going!! More hurricane evidence. Do you see the island? An island looking for a Gilligan. Amazing to see a tree, on an island out here. Haulover Canal entrance. Did he buy a kayak for fishing since his wife wasn't interested, OR, did he buy a kayak for fishing so his wife couldn't join him? Hmmmmm.... The fisherman were prolific in this canal. The Haulover bridge.   It crosses a channel between the Indian River and the Mosquito Lagoon. You can live here for $50,000. Or you can live here for $3.5 million.
