Day 54- Davis, ON (lock 38) to Smith's Falls, ON (lock 31)

Day 2 on the Rideau Canal has been stunningly beautiful. Very narrow in places. Rocks hidden in the trees. Open water lakes. Varied and fabulous.

Check out this little gem hiding in a boat house!

I own and island and I will build on it!!

Love the swans and their babies.

Narrow with lots of homes and boats.

A marina with essentials.  LCBO is Liquor Control Board Ontario.  Hopefully "Beer Store" is self explanatory.

This was truly a "tiny home".

The arrow signs are really helpful, otherwise your wrong turn could end abruptly.  The speed sign is 10KpH, the first of which sparked a frenzy of calculation and conversion.  Everything else around here is in miles.  Net result, 1000RPM is close enough to 10KpH for me, about 6.6 mph
When we saw this sign we both assumed the turn was right after the land. Watch the next video to see where we almost ended up in.

Nice place with their own little dock and covered parking.

This video shows a swing bridge opened by human (girl) power.

It's been a busy winter in Canada Geese Land.. These adults are teaching the young ones how to poop on a lawn.
Notice how quickly these things are growing.

After the pooping lesson they showed them how to belly flop into the water.

A couple of families joined together so the cousins could play...
as the rain started, again.
