Day 57- Ottawa, ON, Canada
DAY 57 June 12
Karen arranged appointments for us. Thanks Karen.
A rose between two thorns. My first ever pedicure. What was I thinking?
But Paul, you were the one with the thorny toes!!
I couldn't figure out the weird shit my chair was doing, or how to turn it off.
Cheryl bailed me out.
Covered up the evidence.

Stop number 2 was the LCBO.
The Liquor Control Board of Ontario is a Crown corporation that retails and distributes alcoholic beverages throughout the Canadian province of Ontario. It is accountable to the Legislative Assembly through the minister of finance.
HAIRCUTS were next.
Little did I know that I might want the tequila after the haircut. The gentleman who cut my hair did not really speak much English. He didn't really ask me what I wanted done. The next thing I know, I have a VERY short haircut. It is a very nice haircut with feathered edges, but really, I'm not a boy. Oh well, it grows, right?

EVERY time Paul sees a sign for a Canadian Tire he gets excited. He had never been in a Canadian Tire store before. Karen took us to the largest one in the country. He could hardly contain his excitement.

Never heard of Canadian Tire? The only thing you can't get here is a pedicure.

This was taken from the glass elevator as we were leaving the second floor. The long row is of one product. Toasters, coffee makers, small blenders, the entire length for each. I've never seen such a selection.
Grocery shopping was rather anticlimactic after Canadian Tire. That was at another location. The only thing Canadian Tire didn't have.
The small world connections continued. We heard a knock on the boat. I look out and there stand Richard and Tracy, the friends from Rapid City, SD who we connected with back in New Baltimore on the Hudson River. They tracked us down via our AIS boat number and took us to dinner. What a nice surprise.
We were a half block away from Little Italy, so, that's where we went to eat. As we were walking along Richard says "let's eat here". So we did.
No, it's not a church. It's a restaurant with enough church yard sale decor to give an old parochial school boy the heebie jeebies.
Definitely interesting decor. The beer and food were okay too.
Another day in the exciting life of...

Wow bold steps with Captain Paul’s first pedicure. I thinking there is no turning back from this milestone going forward. Bob knows for he speaks. Your last few days voyage to Ottawa and time there looks amazing. Great pictures and commentary. If Killkenny is the Ying Ottawa must be the Yang Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteBob, you speak like you have had your duck feet worked on... yes? Thanks, glad you are enjoying the blog.
