Day 61- Burritt's Lock 17 to Smith Falls, Lock 29
We are back in "lock" land. We went 16 miles and it took us
5 hours and 9 minutes.

Remember all the tents set up at the lock part area in yesterday's post? These girls were the inhabitants. They are taking a canoe course that allows them to navigate the Canadian waterways without supervision. They had to swamp their canoes as part of the training. Cold water!! Yuck!!
This pooch got sent to the penalty box. At the first lock, he jumped ship for the grass. At the second lock he would have slid off the foredeck if momma hadn't grabbed his tail. At the third lock he was confined to quarters down below.
Another house with character.
Two babies, left alone...
Then momma resurfaced.
Oh noooo! A dreaded "Leboat" rental boat coming our way!
This fish is 24 inches long and weighs 19 pounds, Trust me.
Twenty first century transportation crossing nineteenth century transportation.
The timbers get dropped between the pilings.
That's all for the today. Another day on the canal tomorrow.
