Day 87- Little Current, ON to Gore Bay, ON via Benjamin Islands
This was a sawmill. It burned down and this is all that remains.
Seems that a lot of sawmills had fires.
It is a decorated light (house) tower?
Sure, these look like the gratuitous cat pictures, but the reason for this is a special occasion. For three months, Grady the cat would skeedaddle down below and lump it under the comforter as soon as the engine started. For the last couple of weeks, especially when we were moving slower, he would stay out on the settee. Today, running a normal cruising speed (and noise!), he joined us on the pilot house seats!
He even roamed around up by the windows of the helm.
After arriving at the Benjamin Islands I threw the
kayak into the water and took a tour.
This area has pink or rose colored granite. Some very distinct shapes too.
And big dragonflies.
The beavers lived up to their name of "busy beaver."
More examples of the distinct rock colorations and makeup.
This was my artsy-fartsy shot of the day.
