Day 160- September 23 Paducah, KY
DAY 160
Remember how high the pilings were at the Paducah marina? Well, even with that, the city built a 12 foot high wall along the riverfront to protect it from annual flooding. That's a lot of water!!
Thankfully, the good folks of Paducah decided that the wall would be a great place for mural art. They did a great job!
Big surprise here. Paducah was the primary source for processing enriched uranium for nuclear power early in the atomic age.
Run away! The attack of the hot air balloons!!
Did I say that there has been a lot of water?
This mural is actually a painting of one of the quilts in the museum. Both are impressive.
It is also available as diamond art, needle work, posters, etc. very popular.

You, too, can take a cruise up the rivers. This one starts in New Orleans and comes up the lower Mississippi, and they go to Nashville and Chattanooga. It's American Cruise Lines, if you are interested. You may recall we passed one of their ships in the ICW in Georgia!
The bow of this one folds up too. That is where passengers were boarding the boat for the next cruise.
Paducah has a lot of historic buildings and most have been maintained beautifully.
Here is a sampling of some that I saw while riding my bike around town.
